Since it has amiibo support I can play as all sorts of video game characters as long as I have the corresponding amiibo.
Currently I only have a Skylanders Hammer Slam Bowser amiibo and the 30th Anniversary Mario amiibo. I would've had the Skylanders Turbo Charge Donkey Kong amiibo today if it weren't for the fact I got the wrong starter kit for the wrong system as a Christmas present. I got the Wii version instead of the Wii U version! Oh well, once the stores open tomorrow I'll exchange it for the right starter kit.
